What is the DFW Train Show
The DFW Train Show features operating train layouts, educational clinics, interactive attractions, and more than 60 vendors offering trains, collectibles, scenery, tools, and hobby supplies.
Hosted by the North Texas Council of Railroad Clubs, the event was created to promote the hobby of model railroading and provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, explore, and connect with the community behind it.
Whether you're a lifelong railfan, an experienced modeler, or visiting for the very first time, the DFW Train Show offers something new to discover around every corner.
What to Expect
15+ Operating Layouts
Watch trains wind through detailed cities, mountains, industries, and miniature worlds built by clubs from across North Texas. From massive G-scale trains to intricate N-scale railroads, every layout offers something unique to discover.
Family Attractions
Enjoy train rides on the Choo Choo Express, explore the Junior Engineer Academy, and enter raffles and hourly door prize drawings. Don't miss the chance to win the NMRA Pay It Forward Layout raffle. There's something happening throughout the weekend for visitors of all ages.
Clinics & Demonstrations
Learn from experienced model railroaders through educational clinics covering everything from getting started in the hobby to scenery building, 3D printing, layout design, and modeling techniques.
Home Layout Tours
Go beyond the show floor and visit some of the area's most impressive private model railroads. Available during select shows, these self-guided tours offer a rare look inside layouts not normally open to the public.
